Memorial Day

The slide show below is of our adventurous Memorial day. We had a picnic with our friends from the branch. WE went to one park but it was so full.. and the parking RIDICULOUS that we ended up at a different park that was just as beautiful and fun. The boys got to feed geese (who were very protective of their babies so they would hiss, stare us down, and even chase us). They got to watch the train go by (like Grandpa Ricky rode on (Austin's words)), play on the playground, and play in a huge sandbox that they loved. But the cherry on the sunday was the SPRINKLER PARK. Austin loved it and had fun playing there with his friends Connor, Brooke, and Willem. Mason wanted nothing to do with all that water spraying everywhere and the crazy kids running through it. But it was fun to watch his CRAZY brother get soaking wet. Although we were missing our family we ended up having a fun filled fantastic day with our friends.

SPLASH...

We went to the mountains last night to play in the river. The boys had tons of fun.. Austin even cried when we left. While we were up there we skipped stones in the river, threw mud (Mason), and went wading. Mason even went wading in shoes and he decided that he wanted to try out fishing like a duck and face planted into the water. We thought after his reaction that we would have to leave but to our astonishment our little guy wanted to go back for more over and over again.

IN MY EYES....

OK... So I do think that David Cook is an amazing artist and he deserves to have the title of American Idol but I also believe that is true of David Archuleta... and my vote went to David Archuleta. So David Archuleta was, is, and in my eyes will be the AMERICAN IDOL from 2008. He was just so amazingly talented. He could sing anything and I loved the way he would change a song and it still sounded amazing, not like when most people change a song and you cringe... he could actually do it.

Uncle Bunny's Treasured Visit

Poor little Austie still talks about how Bunny is going to do this with him and do that with him, and how he did this and that with him. However sadly enough Uncle Bunny is not coming back and I don't have the heart to explain this to him. He also insists that his Mema is coming to visit at Tennessee and snuggle with him... so she better start planning or this poor little boy will have one broken heart. I could be mean and hold Bunny's pictures hostage but I will send them because I know how much he treasures them... by the way haven't made it to the post office (I wanna get a special envelope to send them in or else they will get bent... I will try to do that tom. it is suppose to rain.) Anyways the point is these are two cute pictures of my boys with their very special Uncle (Alex, Jared (better bring your family or I am not sure Austie will count you r visit), and Nicholas you better get down here so you can measure up to the Bunny who came to visit twice)!

Hard Work Pays Off

It is always such hard work to have the missionaries over for dinner.. well at least for me it is.... I like to have everything just perfect (probably because growing up mom went all out for the missionaries). But I have to say even though it may be extra work my boys love to have the missionaries over. I love that they are still so young but know who the missionaries are and what they do. I love to see Austin's excitement as they arrive, or his excitement as they wait for them to come over. I love to hear him pray for the missionaries. So even though it is hard work I know that having them into my home sets a standard and an example for my boys. I am grateful to all the missionaries and past missionaries (especially family) who have set an excellent example for my boys. Thank you missionaries everywhere!!!!

Blue Rubber Boots

Everytime I mention getting dressed or putting on our shoes.. Mason runs to his bedroom and grabs his little, blue, rubber boots. He is attached to these rubber boots, and when he puts them on he struts his stuff. Now I couldn't get him to look at the camera, he is a bit grumpy this morning because his brother woke him up so I apologize for the bad picture. However, we just wanted to display just how cute he is in his little rubber boots. I don't know what it is with boys and boots but it is just too cute.. Austin loved his cowboy boots and Mason loves his rubber boots.

Where do they come up with these things...

A few funnies to report...
1st Terra and the girls will be happy to know that they successfully carried out their mission to teach Austin the entire soundtrack to Highschool Musical.. Yes my little man walks around singing Fabulous.. We're all in this together.. and so forth (those two are his favorites)

2nd Yesterday when I was searching for some new songs to add to my blog.. Austin decided to join me.. I was listening to Rascal Flats (one of my absolute faves) and he informed me "NO mom not this song.. this is a GOOBER song" ! What a goober song.. where did he come up with Goober.. he called me a silly goober on Sunday and now I listen to Goober songs.. it must be official I'm a goober!

A Wise Observation...

If you were cool back in the day you watched a hilarious movie called Harry and the Hendersons. Well our Free On Demad movie channel had this oldie but goodie for our viewing pleasure so we turned it on for Austin, figuring he would enjoy it... which he did. A character in the movie has a bald head.. and a dark beard.. in a scene at the end of the movie the hairless, bearded man got his head rubbed by big foot and as innocently as possible Austin says " Hey.. he's like Poppop!"

THE BIG QUESTION..

The big question that the Ray boys wanted to know while watching the Care Bear Movie is... Why did Uncle Nicholas want to destroy the care bears? However, after carefully watching the movie Austin decided.. that's another Nicholas not Uncle Nicholas.
