The next AMERICAN IDOL..

Boys + Quiet = NO GOOD

Dustin was on the internet and I was sitting in the rocking chair reading (both in our room) when we heard glass. We ran into the boys bedroom to find 2 of my blue glasses, one of which was broken lying in their bedroom. (don't know how they got them.. their up very high) We cleaned up and took care of the situation... closed their door and sentenced them to their bedroom. We went back to reading.. we noted that it was too quiet for too long. Austin came bursting into the room "the egg cracked" what? Then it clicked.. we went running to the kitchen to find this mess. BRAND NEW dozen of EGGS EVERYWHERE (the chair had been folded and put away after lunch.. Austin must have gotten it out)! Guess they were hungry!

My Little Criminal

For the first time yesterday I went to a flea market. Dustin's grandparents came to visit so we walked over to the flea market that is literally a stone throw's away from our apartments. Mammaw and I decided to go into the big building and see what was in there, so we did. While we were in one little shop that was sectioned off, Austin brought me over a very cool electrical shark toy that could eat things, I told him that we couldn't get it today but maybe another day. Well, we left the store and I bumped the basket of my stroller and out to my utter dismay fell the shark toy, when I bent down to pick it up I noticed that not only had he shoplifted one but two shark toys (one for him and one for his brother). HUMILIATED... I quickly ran them back to the little shop and set them down before anyone noticed!!!! Luckily he wasn't caught and I didn't have to take my first ride in the back of a police car.. How would I explain that one!!

Potty Training Blues...

OK... we have done every trick in the book and he just will not use the potty. He knows when he needs to go... he takes off his diaper and immediately tells you he peed... he wakes up dry most nights and most naps... all the signs tell us ...HELLO ITS TIME.. but he flat out refuses to use the potty.. when I mean that I have tried everything I mean everything.. new potty seat all the way to target practice and bribing.... So if you have any suggestions.. PLEASE leave them! Thank you!

Austin and his dads sacred experience

Austin and I ( Dustin ) would like to share with you a very sacred experience we shared Sunday. As most of you know this weekend was a very special weekend in the church, not only with General Conference but also saturday being the solemn assembly. I guess all of us were a little more spiritually minded and sensitive. In between sessions on Sunday, Tonya being tired decided to lay down for a nap while I made the family lunch. I was making hamburgers. Austin was hanging out with me in the kitchen as I cooked. At one moment we were standing in front of the kitchen table setting it up. All of the sudden from Austin, he and I being the only ones in the room, I heard in his sweet innocent little boy voice as he pointed towards the empty chair across from us, "Look Dad, there's Jesus" At first I had to make sure I had heard it right. You can understand that I was very amazed. After he told me again and sensing that we were having a sacred moment, I stooped down to his height and gently said to him, "Do you see Jesus? Where, where is Jesus?" I heard again, "There's Jesus!" as he pointed in the same direction. He continued to move and reach even closer until finally his little hand was directly over the stack of four cheese slices I had set on the table in preperation for dinner, and he said again (and this time I understood) "Here dad, here's cheeses!"

AWESOME CONFERENCE!

What great talks... I love Conference... this time around was PHENOMENAL..I just loved it. High Five to Elder Ballad for his amazing talk in the Sunday afternoon session... talking to the little children telling them to clean up their toys for their moms. YAHOO... a prophet has spoken.. what great leverage. No really it was a great talk... so many of the talks were absolutely wonderful. Leave a comment sharing your favorite talk and why, or what stood out to you!

Our Little Trauma

We walked in the door from our FHE and Austin walked straight to his giant soccer ball.. he laid on it.. and went sailing into the TV stand..So sad. We had to call Aunt Terra, then Pop Pop. And Austin thanks Uncle Bunny for the special phone call and Uncle Alex for the special phone call. He also thanks Nema for her nursing skills. Hopefully it won't leave a scar!
