Gingerbread Drama

At work at our November staff meeting we were told that we all had to do Gingerbread houses, it was mandatory. Well I am going to cut corners of the story so you just get the gist... but Austin's teachers decided that they weren't going to do it the right way, they were going to build one. Well I got upset and I couldn't let it go because he wasn't going to get his own individual house.... this is important because after you decorate it, the fun part is showing it off and eating it. So I had to say something and I did... and needless to say Austin made a gingerbread bear... and he was SOOO VERY PROUD of it... as soon as we got home he showed everyone in the house... and then 5 mins later when Aunt Terra came he drug her into the kitchen with excitement and showed her. He still won't eat it because he wants everyone to see. So I want to personally thank his teachers (in case they read this) for giving my Little Austie the opportunity to have sheer joy in showing off his very own gingerbread bear. SORRY for being an annoying mother but THANK YOU for the fun.

What A Memory

Sometimes when I am out of PJ pants or having a fat day I borrow Dustin's PJ pants.. Well the other day we were sitting in the basement and Austin starting laughing hysterically then said "Silly Daddy's wearing mommy's jammies." HE couldn't comprehend that these were not mommy's but daddy's. (This particular pair of pj pants hadn't been worn on by me in over a month.) It just amazes me sometimes what he remembers or what he says and does. He is growing up too fast!!!

BORING!

Terra yelled at me for not posting the other day but life has been busy and uninteresting so as soon as something thrilling happens I will post.

The Nutcracker

Finally after along time (1998 or 1999) the San Jose Ballet's The Nutcracker came back to the State Theatre in Cleveland. This was awesome because every year my dad would take Terra and I to see it. We haven't been able to go because the Cleveland ballet went bankrupt. But it finally made its comeback so my dad took Katy, Xandi, Terra, and I to see the ballet last night. It was even more beautiful than I remembered it. It is so amazing to me how those ballerinas can do such things with their bodies. Being a dancer I know how difficult dancing is especially the talent and technique that ballet requires. Being there brought back such wonderful childhood memories. It was wonderful to be back... especially since it was a date with my dad.. it is so nice to spend time with him. Thank you Dad for a night on the town.

Happy Thanksgiving!

WE just wanted to wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving! Mason's first thanksgiving was an ok event... he didn't really eat because his poor gums are so swollen from eating. But it was an enjoyable experience with loved ones. It was cute when we asked Austin if he was grateful for his brother Mason... he truly sat and thought about it before he answered. Well hope you all had a fat and happy thanksgiving!

Just wasn't fair...

Reviewing my blog I realized that there were more pics of Mason than Austin and it just wasn't fair. It also wasn't fair that Mason's cowboy pic was displayed and Austin's wasn't. The history of this picture is one day when I was feeding Mason.. Austin came crawling down the steps with only his boots and diaper on. It was the cutest thing ever. It put a smile on my face!

Just Trying to Help

I love it when Austin does his best to be a big brother and help out. It is really quite cute, however, some days I just want to cry because it really isn't help. Today I put Mason in the highchair to make dinner and when I turned back around to my son saying "Here you go Mason" I saw him dumping the box of baby oatmeal onto the tray.:) Sweet that he was trying to help his brother get a snack, but sad because I had a huge mess to clean up.
